Champagne, a fine wine!

photo The students of LE MONDE Institute of Çotel & Tourism Studies had a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with one of the most popular drinks in the world during the seminar which took place on Monday May the 7th. Mr Simos Georgopoulos, who works as a journalist for the newspaper ‘eleftherotypia’ and also teaches at the Sommelier Course provided by LE MONDE Énstitute, introduced our students to the fascinating world of Champagne.

photo During the three – hour seminar the students wondered fictitiously at the vineyards and the wineries of the Champagne region, they learned about the particularities of the unique climate circumstances of the territory, the special characteristics of the soil as well as the strict rules which ensure the persistent improvement of the way champagne is produced.

At the seminar the students tasted the following champagnes:

  • Veuve Clicquot Brut
  • Piper – Heidsieck Brut
  • R & H Lamotte Brut – Premier Cru
  • Laurent Perrier Brut
  • Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rose
  • Taittinger Nocturne

We would like to express our gratitude to the Asset Ogilvy Public Relations company and to Mrs Elli Panagiotopoulou whose support made the realization of this seminar possible.
