Greek gastronomy lessons for American students

photo LE MONDE offered, for the 2nd year in a roll, Greek gastronomy lessons for foreign students at DCT International Swiss Hotel/ Hospitality Management School in Lucerne, Switzerland. The students of the American university of JOHNSON & WALES, who were visiting the Swiss school, attended the seminars about authentic Greek cuisine, which were taught by Mr. Makis Kalosakas, chef instructor in LE MONDE.

During the seminars, the American students became familiarised with authentic Greek products such as, feta, fava, honey and they saw how they are used in the preparation of traditional recipes.

Mr. Kalosakas willingly answered all the questions that the students posed regarding the recipes, the ingredients as well as the way they could use them in order to create modern and creative dishes.

Among the recipes that were prepared at the seminars were: country lamb exohiko, sarmatakia with cabbage leave, creamy pouree of yellow split peas (fava) and Aliada from Kefalonia island.

The students of the Amarican university were fascinated by the Greek gastronomic culture and as they said… they are looking forward to visiting Greece soon in order to learn more about it!
